Why there's no “Download” button

You can put the site on your home screen next to your other apps. It'll open with one tap, without the address bar.

On Android, in Chrome:

  1. Open my-idol.ru and sign in.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  3. Choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
  4. Confirm the name, and the icon will appear on your screen.

On iPhone, in Safari:

  1. Open my-idol.ru and sign in.
  2. Tap the “Share” button, the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll the menu and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Tap “Add” in the top right corner.

You can delete the icon like any other, and your account and chats won't disappear: they're stored on the server, not on your phone.

What an app gives you vs. a browser

  • Installation. App: store, download, permissions. Browser: open a link.
  • Space on your phone. App: a hundred megabytes and up. Website: next to nothing.
  • Updates. App: manually or on the store's schedule. Website: instantly, for everyone.
  • Payment from Russia. In store apps it's often complicated. On the website: in rubles.
  • Other devices. App: only on your phone. Website: anywhere.

An app has one real advantage: habit. An icon on your screen keeps reminding you it's there. That's exactly why it's worth adding one.
