Frendi AI (frendi.ai) is a Russian service for chatting with AI characters, and its biggest strength is scale: more than sixteen thousand user-made characters, group chats and storylines. You get up to 30 free messages a day, and every paid plan renews automatically. You can turn off auto-renewal in your account or by emailing info@frendi.ai. Step-by-step instructions below, including the catch with linked cards.
This is a review of a neighboring service, so we stick to what Frendi says about itself, plus clearly marked differences. Numbers are as of late September 2026.
How to cancel a Frendi subscription
Let's start with the practical part, since that's why half our readers end up here. Here's what Frendi's terms of service (version dated July 17, 2026) say:
Every term, whether one month, three months or a year, renews automatically. It's a recurring payment, not a one-time purchase.
If the charge to your main card fails, the service is allowed to try another card linked to your account.
There are no refunds for unused time: canceling only stops future charges.
You can cancel in your account or by emailing info@frendi.ai.
Log in to your account on frendi.ai and turn off auto-renewal.
Can't find the button, or it didn't work? Email info@frendi.ai from the address your account is registered to. Ask them to turn off auto-renewal and keep the email.
Do it at least a day before the billing date, not on the last evening.

Unlink any extra cards. Otherwise, if one fails, they may try another.
Check in your banking app that the card has no active subscriptions to the service left.
The service also has a Telegram support bot, but email is more reliable: you keep a copy as proof.
What is Frendi AI?
Frendi, which Russian speakers also search for under its Cyrillic spellings, is a website for chatting with characters in Russian. It's run by a company from Krasnoyarsk, LLC Sistema Razvitiya Biznesa. Just don't confuse it with the Mazda Bongo Friendee minivan: search "friendee" on its own and that's mostly what you'll get.
Its main feature is that users build most of the catalog themselves. As of September 29, 2026, the site had 16,299 characters, 564 group chats and 708 storylines; four days earlier it was 15,870, 556 and 695. Anyone can make a character with the "Create" button, from TV show heroes to original roles.
There are two statements about age at once. The content is labeled as strictly for adults, but the FAQ says the service uses filters and follows Russian law. If you expect the 18+ label to mean total freedom, keep the second part in mind. How restrictions like these work in general is covered in uncensored AI.
How the plans work
According to the service's FAQ, you get up to 30 free messages a day. After that it's a subscription for a month, three months or a year. Prices are hidden behind a login: the pricing page sends you to sign in if you're not logged in. As of September 25, 2026, the tiers were Frendi Basic, Plus+ and Pro, and the annual plan was advertised as "just 24 rubles a day." Descriptions mentioned:
unlimited messages;
chat storage for up to six months and context of up to 100 messages, meaning how many recent lines the model keeps in mind;
image generation with a monthly limit;
an in-app currency, Frendi Coins, bundled with some plans;
regenerating replies and a "persona," a description of yourself for the characters.
Models listed in the FAQ: Frendi Basic, Romantic, GPT-4.1 and Frendi Insight. Check what each tier includes in the service itself before paying: the lineup changes and promotions run often.
The free trial and the mysterious 10 rubles
As of September 25, 2026, getting started looked like this: three days of the Pro plan for free, but you have to link a card. To verify it, the service charged 10 rubles and refunded it right away. After the trial days, the paid subscription kicks in unless you turn off auto-renewal.
That's why so many people search for "frendi cancel subscription": they start the trial for one evening, forget the date, and then the first charge arrives. The advice is simple: turn off auto-renewal right after you start the trial, using the steps above.
What users say
On one big Russian review site, Frendi had a 3.3 out of 5 from six votes as of late September 2026. Review headlines include "Half-baked and pricey" and "No dark mode," while a recent review praises the frequent updates. The author of a July article on vc.ru, a popular Russian tech and business blog platform, wrote that his free limit had been cut from 30 to 25 messages a day; the FAQ now says "up to 30" again.
Where Frendi is stronger
In choice. Sixteen thousand characters nearly guarantees you'll find a hero from your favorite movie, anime or game, even if the cards vary in quality. Plus several models to choose from and hundreds of ready-made group scenes.
How my-idol.ru is different
We don't bet on quantity. We bet on every character feeling like someone with a life of their own. The catalog is smaller, but the heroes from anime, movies and books are written with care and reply in natural English or Russian, whichever you choose: Hermione argues with you about the rules, Sirius Black drags you into an adventure. Characters remember the conversation between visits and can reply by voice. You can build your own hero in the builder and invite several into one group chat. You pay in rubles.
In your account on frendi.ai or by emailing info@frendi.ai. Do it before the billing date and unlink extra cards: per the terms, if one card fails they can charge another. There are no refunds for unused time.
Is Frendi free?
Partly: according to the service's FAQ, you get up to 30 free messages a day. Unlimited messages and extra features require a subscription.
Why did Frendi charge me 10 rubles?
As of September 25, 2026, that's how the card was verified when starting the trial: 10 rubles were charged and refunded right away.
Is Frendi an app or a website?
It's mainly the frendi.ai website; the homepage doesn't mention a mobile app. There are channels on Telegram, VK (Russia's largest social network) and Dzen.
Are Frendi AI and the Cyrillic "Frendi II" the same thing?
Yes, they're different spellings of the same service, frendi.ai.
