Why there's no number one here
First, the scope. Study and work assistants like ChatGPT, GigaChat, or Alice (Yandex's voice assistant) are a different class, judged by different standards. This is about chats for conversation: characters who keep a dialogue going, flirt, play a role, and remember you.
Almost every "top AI chats" list is written by one of the services, and the author sits in first place. We're in this market too, so we give you criteria and data and leave the verdict to you. All numbers come from the services' official pages as of September 29, 2026. They go stale fast: one service raised prices by almost half in six weeks, another rewrote its plans in early September.
The filter: three questions that rule services out
This isn't about taste. It's about whether the service will work for you at all. One "no" and you can stop looking.
- Is the Russian native or translated? Native means the interface and characters were written in Russian by people. Translation gives itself away in a couple of minutes: awkward buttons, character cards in English, a companion answering "Sure!" mid-scene.
- Does it open without a VPN? In late September 2026, the services in this review were tested from eight home and mobile networks in Russia: almost all opened everywhere, one opened on seven out of eight.
- Can you pay in rubles directly? A Russian bank card or SBP (Russia's instant payment system), with no Telegram Stars, crypto, or resellers.
Everything else comes down to taste
- The free limit and how often it resets. Twenty messages once and twenty every day are very different offers.
- The price of the month you'll actually use. Not the cheapest line on the pricing page, but the plan that has what you need.
- Voice: does the character reply with voice, and from which plan?
- Images: does the character send pictures during the conversation, or is there only a separate generator?
- Memory: does it recognize you after a break, and is memory cut down on the cheap plan?
- Your own character and the catalog: can you build a character, how many ready-made ones are there, and who writes them?
- Who you're paying: does the terms of service name a provider with a tax ID (INN)? When everything's fine, it doesn't matter. In a billing dispute, it matters more than anything.

Eight services at a glance
- WetDreamsNative Russian. Guests get 10 messages, a month starts at 495 rubles, payment via an aggregator, cards, and crypto. You can pick the language model, the catalog is user-made, voice is paid. The terms name only a "team," no tax ID.
- Frendi AINative Russian. Up to 30 messages a day and a huge catalog: over 16,000 characters plus hundreds of group chats and storylines. Prices show up only after you log in; the terms name an LLC with a tax ID.
- LikotekaNative Russian. 30 messages a day, then you drop to "minimal memory"; a month starts at 599 rubles, no auto-renewal. Rooms with several characters, no voice in any plan, explicit scenes banned by the rules.
- VluvviHas Russian. 30 messages a day during the trial, then 10; a month starts at 999 rubles. Voice from the lowest plan, photos in chat from 1,699 rubles. Lots of male characters.
- RPDateNo subscription: 1 to 1.75 rubles per reply, photos at 5 rubles each. 20 messages once plus a login bonus. Has a Telegram mini app and group chats; the terms don't name the provider.
- HoneyChat20 messages a day, plans from 380 rubles. Runs in Telegram; you pay with Stars, crypto, or cards. No legal entity listed.
- SpicyChatEnglish interface, prices in dollars: from $5.95. Pay by card, via Boosty, or with crypto. User-made catalog, small free context window, voice only on the most expensive plan.
- Yollo AIThere's a Russian version of the site, but the text is machine-translated and most cards are in English. It's advertised as free, yet the site's code contains daily limits.
Character.AI and Janitor AI didn't make the list: from Russia, they have their own access and payment problems. They get their own articles: Character.AI not working: what to use instead and Character AI alternatives.
What a month really costs
The price on the pricing page and the price of your month are two different numbers. Three examples using the figures above:
- Pay per reply. With RPDate at 10 messages a day, a month runs 300–525 rubles; at 50, it's already 1,500–2,625 rubles. Great if you write rarely. The full math is in the RPDate review.
- A base plan without what you need. Vluvvi's 999-ruble plan has voice, but photos in chat start at 1,699 rubles.
- Media only at the top. SpicyChat has voice only on its most expensive plan.
Which one fits whom
- Huge selection and group scenesFrendi, or SpicyChat if an English interface and paying through Boosty don't bother you.
- Fandoms and roleplay worlds without explicit scenesLikoteka: Russian, rooms with several characters, no auto-renewal. The trade-off: no voice.
- You write rarely and hate subscriptionsRPDate, with pay-per-reply pricing.
- You want to choose the language modelWetDreams, which offers several models.
- A big selection of AI boyfriendsVluvvi has over two hundred male characters.
Where my-idol.ru fits in
We're a service in this niche too, so about ourselves we'll only say what's easy to check in chat. Our characters reply in English or Russian, whichever you choose: heroes of anime, shows, and books like Frieren, Satoru Gojo, Hermione, or Dean Winchester, plus original characters with ready-made setups, like Troy, who dumped you for your friend and now wants you back. They remember the conversation, you can listen to a reply in the character's voice, and you can ask for a picture of the scene right in the chat. You can gather several characters in a group chat or build your own in the editor. Plans are in rubles, and the site opens from Russia without workarounds.
What we don't promise: a catalog of tens of thousands of user-made bots like Frendi's, or a choice of language model like WetDreams. If that's what matters most to you, look at them.
Open the catalog, send three messages with slang and typos, and tell the character your name. Then check tomorrow whether they remember it.
Pick a characterChecklist: 10 minutes before you pay
- Open the site on your phone over mobile data, not just on home Wi-Fi.
- Send three messages in Russian with slang and typos. A reply that doesn't switch to English is a good sign.
- Find the price before signing up. If you can't, that's an answer too.
- Open the terms of service: is there auto-renewal, who's the provider, what about refunds?
- Check whether the free limit is per day or one-time.
- See which plan unlocks voice and pictures right inside the conversation.
- Tell the character your name and one detail about yourself. Come back tomorrow: do they remember?
- Once you subscribe, immediately find where to turn off renewal.
