How to take it

Don't pick the answer that sounds nicest. Pick the one you'd actually do. Picture a specific person you like or used to like. If there's no one right now, think back to your last crush.

This quiz is for fun and doesn't replace a psychological assessment. Your type can change: with one person you're a tsundere, with another an open deredere.

If your results are nearly tied

Pure types are rare. The most common mixes:

  • Tsundere + kuudere: the prickly quiet one. Calm, with rare but well-aimed jabs.
  • Kuudere + dandere: the most common mix-up. The difference is why they're quiet: a kuudere sees no point in talking, a dandere is scared to.
  • Dandere + deredere: quiet with strangers, sunshine with their people.
  • Tsundere + yandere: jealous, but would never admit it.

How to read signals from each dere

If you took the quiz thinking about someone else, here's a cheat sheet for reading their texts.

  • A tsundere texts "ok"She's upset and waiting for you to ask what's wrong. More in what is a tsundere.
  • A kuudere texts "ok"It just means "ok." Everything's fine.
  • A dandere takes forever to replyMost likely writing the perfect answer. Don't rush them.
  • A deredere suddenly replies with one lineTime to ask if everything's okay: normally you get three messages for every one of yours.

All five, plus a dozen rarer archetypes, are covered in dere types. And if you saw yourself in the yandere, check out what is a yandere: it explains where anime ends and anxiety begins.

Talk to heroes of your type

On my-idol.ru you can chat with characters whose dere type is obvious from the first line: prickly Asuka, unflappable Rei Ayanami, unstoppable Chika Fujiwara. It's fun to see how you get along with your own type, and with your opposite.

Pick a hero with your favorite dere type and see who out-stubborns whom.
