First, look at what's actually happening

"Not responding" is really five different problems. Each one needs a different fix, so start by pinning down the symptom.

  • The three dots spin foreverMost likely an outage or overload on the service's end.
  • "Network error," "something went wrong"The connection between you and the server dropped.
  • The reply cuts off halfwayThe connection blipped or the reply ran too long.
  • Error 429 or "too many requests"You've hit a limit.
  • "Service not available in your country"A region block, and that's the company's decision.
  • A polite "I can't help with that"
